Anirudh Kumar, keyboard
Music has fascinated me since my early years at school. I would be spellbound during music sessions and be mesmerised by the piano. This led me to learning Western music on the piano. Later I switched to Indian popular music under the guidance of Praveen Chaddha, a famous Bay Area singer and composer. I am also grateful to have the knowledge and experience of Subhas Khasnabish another expert composer, helping me. My most challenging song was ‘Aradhisuve Madanaari’ from Babruvahana in Raga Kara Hara Priya (Kaafi). This classical number sung by Dr Raj Kumar is a difficult number to play on the keyboard since it uses classical instruments like veena and flute extensively and is a very complex composition. It was a great challenge and gave me great satisfaction.
